How I want to be Remembered at Glen Innes School

How do you want to be remembered?
Being remembered can be difficult and simple depending on what you want to be remembered for, such as being the angry guy or being the smart girl. Being remembered as an intelligent, superb role model, a sporty and a hard-worker student is my number one goal.

I want to be remembered as an intelligent student that is always ready to learn. The process of becoming intelligent can be challenging unless you are determined to do well at school. The main reason why I wanted to be remembered as an intelligent student is that, so I can inspire others especially my siblings to aim high and work hard to be the best they can be.

Secondly I want to be remembered as a great role model. Being a year 8 student I have to show other children the expected behaviour and attitude at school.  I have to lead by example so that younger children can always do the right thing.  This can be challenging at times especially when your friends are doing silly things.

Thirdly, I want to be remembered as a talented sport person.  To become a sporty student I must consume healthy food and stay active.  Remaining fit and sporty makes my body healthy. To be remembered as a talented sport student, I must show my potential by playing different kinds of sports and display the skills I have. Encouraging other students to take part and teaching them skills needed to play different sports is one way to make the students and teachers of Glen Innes School remember me.

In addition, I want to be remembered as a hard-working student.  I always admire hard working people in our community and in our family.  Being a hard-working student is not that easy, because sometimes it will take more time and effort to achieve something.  I have long term goals and it can not be accomplished in one day, I have to consistently persevere  over a period of time before I reach my goal.  All hard-working students will be remembered because it is not an easy thing to do. If the teachers and the students would remember me  as a hard-working student I would be over the moon, because being a hard-working student is like my dream goal.

Lastly, I want to be remembered as  an honest student, who will and always speaks the truth. I like to be an honest student because it won't get you into trouble. Also being dishonest may lead to drama, misunderstandings and more problems.  Honestly leads to gaining the trust of other classmates and teachers and you will become a reliable person.  This can make you unpopular because some people might not like you only because you are always speaking the truth even if they are your close or best friends. It is great to be remembered as an honest student because it is very hard to find people with this quality.

I would be thrilled if I will be remembered at Glen Innes School as one of the intelligent students, being a great role model, a talented sport person, an honest and hard-working student.  These are the qualities I want to be remembered  for, some of them are challenging but I am determined to strive towards achieving all of them.  I really want to leave a legacy at the school where my name will be remembered for many generations that would come through the school.

Hard Work Material - Tamaki College

Today we returned to Tamaki College from a two week holiday. This term we still continued on hard work material until our teacher had informed that we are being transferred to a diverse class. As I arrived and left I was still on the same task which was sand papering my pendant, this took a long period of time because you'll have to make it shiny and smooth. This task was second two last so I had just two more jobs until I had completed my project.

Tamaki College - Hard Work Material

Today I progressed to carving my pendant, this task that I tried to complete was difficult. The reason for that is, it takes a long period of time to transform it into the shape I want. Also this piece of pewter is similar to metal which makes it even harder to carve. In order to carve this piece of pewter you'll have to require patience and strength. This was a complicated task and I had to ask my teacher to use his unique machine to get it done faster. After the holidays I hope to complete this project.

The making of my pendant

Every Tuesday we go to Tamaki College to experience what work is like at college. I am currently in Mr Grundy's class. In this class we do  hard work material, which is creating things with wood. Today I proceeded to the next level which was cutting out my design, when we finished we would show it to the teacher for his approval  to move on to the next stage.  According to google research pewter is "A alloy of tin with copper and antimony," (Formly, tin and lead)
While the pewter is melting he would go help other students that are struggling.   To get his attention we would yell MR! to notify him the pewter is melted. When that role is completed he would turn off the gas burner than pour it into our design helded up by another piece of wood. We would wait for at least 5 to 10 minutes for our pewter to set.  After that we would take the pendant out than smooth the edges which is where I am currently at. But hopefully I would complete my work by next week.

Hard work material - Tamaki College

Baby Bottle With A Nipple. Isolated On Blue Background. Vector ...Today I started the process of making pendants. First I had to choose my final design out of all the designs I created.  I decided to make a baby bottle. The most efficient way to choose the correct pendant is to write the word silhouette than write whatever you want, also choose a picture that has no holes. After that my Technology teacher printed out my paper that has the exact size of 3mm. In that paper there was my image and at the back of the paper I had to draw a circle around it, than fill that circle by scribbling it.  Once that is done you'll need a piece of wood that is 3mm MDF. Then match the paper and the wood to have the same exact size. When this is all done,. you'll advanced to the next level which is tracing the bottle to the wood. This where I am at the moment and I will move on to the next step next week.
